Meet Frances

Frances is a three-pound red toy poodle with a big personality and an even bigger love for life.

She has lived in Miami and New York City and travels wherever adventure calls. (She's even been to France!)

She assumes she belongs everywhere, and somehow, she’s usually right.

When I brought home Frances - who, at the time, fit into the palm of my hand - I was sure love alone would be all I needed. I was wrong.

I'd cared for dogs before, but it didn't take long to recognize that Frances' needs were far different from what I'd grown used to.

Suddenly, the world felt much, much bigger than Frances. Leashes, stairs, cars, even a small box toppling off the kitchen island - everything was a hazard. And I had little to no luck finding real, stress-free advice about navigating the world with these little companions!

Living in NYC, our first walks involved constant scanning for feet, stroller wheels, and other (much bigger) dogs. I wanted to enjoy our new life together, but often found myself worrying.

So I started writing things down! What worked, what didn’t. All the little hacks and moments that made life easier and calmer. The real stuff that helped us get through the day with joy.

This is the guide I wish someone had handed me on Day One, to take away the stress, clear the confusion, and help me see the world through Frances's eyes.

Follow along for tiny dog tips, adventures, and joy!

I want to give my new best friend the best life possible, and hopefully, with some of this guidance, you will too.
